Responsible Fishing UK is a collection of artists and creative thinkers who practice and share the art of stone balancing, natural sculpture, environmental and eco friendly installation. Our mission is to encourage people to engage with their natural environment through exploration, play and artistic intervention. We lead a range of family friendly activities that get people thinking creativity about their environment and sharing together the experience of artistic play. We work in schools, at community events and festivals and love nothing more than getting out and sharing our passion with others. Camp Cardboard is a fun interactive building project on a large scale, using nothing but cardboard boxes and creative play. Launched as part of Sheffield Children’s Festival in 2012, team RF will be working with Sheffield schools to transform school halls into interactive playful art installations. We will also be creating a Camp Cardboard in the Winter Gardens, Sheffield on 23 June and featured at the National Eco Schools Show on 26 June at the Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield.
Our website dedicated to camp cardboard.
Stone Balancing The art of stone balancing and stacking is to create seemingly impossible formations by balancing stones on top of each other in arrangements that appear to defy gravity, we work in locations across the UK and use natural material specific to the area. We are able to design and deliver a range of engagement activities based around stone balancing and rock stacking which add a stunning visual and easily accessible element to festivals and events.
We love to create bespoke installations that are playful, fun and interactive. Using eco friendly materials we create large-scale work, which has no negative impact on the environment. Click here for examples of our work, including a solar lighting installation at Cannon Hall and a library book domino topple at Central Library, Barnsley.
We work at many festivals across the country and love the opportunity meet new people and share our passion. In 2011 we ran stone balancing workshops and demonstrations at Latitude, Wilderness, Mintfest and Wirksworth Arts Festival. We are very excited to have been asked to attend Just So festival, 17 – 19 August 2012 and please keep in touch for further news about our whereabouts this coming year.
You can see a few comments from festivals we did last year here.
